Trident Shield is a safety and security, training and consulting company, specializing in workplace violence/active shooter as well as emergency preparedness. Trident Shield currently primarily works with businesses and organizations across the country, but is actively branching out their offerings to the personal/individual market. Their clients include credit unions, non-profits, insurance companies, schools and more.

Trident Shield currently has two primary categories of services: workplace violence/active shooter training and emergency preparedness consulting, consisting of site security assessments, emergency action plan development, tabletop sessions, as well as security and emergency security consulting. Many clients buy the full suite of services, while others pick and choose. Their training is offered as in-person, live webinar, or online and is regarded as one of, if not the only, comprehensive and emotionally-intelligent trainings available that effectively teaches the average person how to prepare for, prevent, or respond to violence.

Emergency Action Plans are a document that is required by OSHA for most organizations, yet many have never created one, nor have an idea of what needs to be included. Trident Shield specializes in creating a document that meets and exceeds OSHA requirements and that will prepare the organization to mitigate the impact of a variety of emergencies that may occur on their worksite(s). In conjunction with the creation of their EAP, may companies elect to start with a site-security assessment. For this service, Trident Shield sends one of their expert consultants to the worksite to assess all items relevant to a business’s preparedness for a violent event at the workplace, including physical security like cameras, locks, gates etc., policies and procedures, and training. They will then provide them with a recommendation report on areas where the client can improve, with specific guidance to accomplish the items.

Trident Shield is raising $50,000. There will be a six-month interest-only period at a 3.75% interest rate, followed by a 30-month fully amortizing period at a 5.00% interest rate. The campaign ends on July 23, 2020 at 11:59pm.

The Project

Investment funds will be used on Marketing and PR to more effectively share Trident Shield’s story and services and to reach a much broader audience. Up to 50K of the investment will be used for this purpose.

Trident Shield is not seeking investors to create a product. They have already put in the long hours and money required to design the best active shooter training available today. Their struggle is that not enough people know about their programs. When it comes down to it, they need to reach more people so they can save more lives.

This is an incredible investment opportunity because the deliverable is ready to go and as soon as Trident Shield can apply these funds to expand their marketing capacity, they will be able to ramp up selling immediately. You will not need to wait for them to create the product before they can make money on it. This in turn will create stronger financial security for their company and guarantee a return on investment for you!

Trident Shield founder and CEO, Jason Perry, has dedicated his life to saving others. After spending 16 years as a Navy SEAL and 4 as a Boston SWAT Officer, he took a job as an executive protection specialist, body-guarding for a high-value client worth over 50 billion dollars. In December of 2012, the tragic attack at Sandy Hook took place, where a special-needs young adult shot and killed 26 students and teachers. The shooting hit Jason hard, as he had his own special-needs 2 year-old son at home. In that moment, he decided that he needed to leave his well-paying job protecting his client and do everything he could with his high-level of experience to save as many lives as possible. Trident Shield was founded just months later in 2013.

Since that time, Trident Shield has evolved in its services, but always remaining true to its mission to save lives. What originally was developed to train law enforcement officers in active shooter response has since been modified and refined to train everyone on how to prepare themselves to face violence in their own life, whether it be at work, home, or out in public. After being asked to provide training for some local schools, Trident Shield quickly noticed that the industry was only using fear-based training and stopped dangerously short of providing enough education on exactly how to perform the life-saving skills they advocated for. They dedicated themselves to designing a training program that was as empowering as it was effective. If their clients’ glowing testimonies indicate anything, they definitely accomplished that goal! Their training incorporates emotional intelligence in the content and design to make it approachable by all types of people and the instruction goes beyond just ‘what’ to do by focusing on exactly ‘how’ to do each skill.

One of the key elements that they figured out and that has directly influenced where their programs are today is the need for the training and instructors to be relatable. When one thinks of active shooter training, they tend to imagine ‘military’ and ‘guns’. That’s not a very relatable or comfortable thought for the average person! This perception immediately causes a barrier to go up in their mind and it becomes much more difficult for them to absorb and retain the information. Trident Shield’s training blends the credibility and expertise of Jason’s experience with the relatable story of his wife and business partner, Lauren Perry. Lauren grew up in a blissfully safe bubble in Maine and didn’t even recognize the threat of violence that impacted her at various times in her life. It was not until meeting Jason that she learned to modify her mindset and take control of her personal safety. Her message to everyone that she trains is that being successful at living a life of safety does not require a ‘tactical’ background! It is this combination of personal stories and professional experience that has positioned Trident Shield at the forefront in their industry.

Expertise + Emotional Intelligence = Empowerment!

The Future

Trident Shield is incredibly proud of the relationships they have formed within the business world and hope to continue to expand their programs and reach within this space. They plan to create a variety of industry-specific courses, to offer an even better training experience for their clients. They also envision branching more broadly into the emergency preparedness arena, with courses and services focused on the non-violent emergencies that organizations face, to supplement our current offering of the Emergency Action Plan development. This and the other security and emergency consulting that they offer will continue to be a primary service for clients. They are also excited to dive more into the personal safety world and bring their industry-leading content to the individual user. They plan to build courses on home defense tactics, women’s self-defense, ‘Life-Safety’ training for young adults heading to college, Guardian training to defend your family, and more. Their goal is to be a house-hold name and to be known as ‘the safety people’; a trusted source for the most advanced, yet applicable, safety training available.

Trident Shield expects that the majority of their revenue will be generated from online training, which is a highly efficient model that maximizes profits. They do anticipate some continuation of live, in-person sessions to provide a premium experience to clients and the public and to allow for more face-to-face, relationship building with their supporters.
