I, Claudia, have cooked since I was 6 years old with my lovely grandma – I still have with me her notebook with the recipes. I have always had a dream to have my own small place where I could make people happy with my food. We buy only the best ingredients, with most of them coming directly from Italy and the others coming from local farms.

We need to grow after 6 years and a good number of customers, giving them something new but with the same experience and quality that they are accustomed to. The concept is always the same: an authentic, quality, friendly environment where you can taste the best of Italy, from our pasta, pinsa, baking, and more.

We are raising $50,000, paid over a 6-month interest-only period and a 54-month fully-amortizing period at a 10.00% interest rate.

As our name suggests, everything we serve is made from scratch.

The Project

$30,000 Equipment

$15,000 Renovation

$5,000 Working Capital

We need a 2 door freezer, electrical professional oven for pinsa, renovation inside the restaurant, as well as marketing and advertising.

With all these improvements we'll be able to offer a new look and new things to taste.

Besides our homemade pasta and our Italian bakery, we are going to develop a new concept related to pizza: the pinsa romana.

This is totally different from traditional pizza. It comes from Rome, where we come from, and the recipe finds its roots with the ancient Romans.

Pinsa is totally vegan with a mix of organic flours. It contains 80% of water, which means super digestible, no cholesterol, and low carb. The dough rises for at least 74 hours (max. 150 hours). So it's not stuffy pizza but healthy, airy, tasteful pinsa.

We are looking to buy more equipment and renovate the interior of our restaurant.

After we moved to the US with our kids in 2013 to Ridgewood, NJ, we started our family dinner in a commercial kitchen and sell at the farmers market on Sunday morning at 6:00 am (yelling each other in Italian because of the way we set the tent ). After two years we had so many customers that we decided in May 2015 to open our small restaurant on Ridgewood Ave.

Here we always offered the best of my grandmother’s recipes and more, with of course my touch. We always use fresh ingredients, most of which imported from Italy in order to keep the authenticity, as well as from local farms with organic ingredients.

I have an open kitchen and that helps show the customers that we're really preparing everything from scratch.

I can say after 6 years of this restaurant that we did a great job, considering all the support we had from our loyal customers during covid.

Our ingredients are either imported from Italy or source from local organic farms.

My vision for the future is very optimistic. From Scratch's name start to be well known around all Bergen County and beyond, and all my customers love everything I do. That makes me confident that this new project will be a success. What we are planning to do is provide something unique, prepared with the experience that we have and the quality of our products.
We think that people, in general, have to be stimulated to try new things, especially when they know from where those things come.

The future is to open more than one location probably in 1-2 years.

Our bakery is an important component of our menu!

Your ongoing responsibilities from investing are very limited. Over the life of the loan, you will receive a yearly 1099-INT, which is a simple tax document similar to what you receive for most savings accounts.*Individual payments may vary slightly based on rounding. Potential repayments include principal and interest; they do not include the one-time fee which is assessed when you make your investment. These amounts are calculated as a hybrid interest-only + amortizing loan, which means that there is a specified interest-only period followed by an amortization period. There are no prepayment penalties and FromscratchFood LLC may pay down their loan early, which may impact your earnings potential. Please note: returns are not guaranteed and investors could lose some or all of their investment.

FromscratchFood LLC pays as agreed. You will receive quarterly payments directly into your bank account. In the event of a default, you will be contacted by the administrative agent to manage the collections process on the investors' behalf.
